- Where are you from? What do you do for work? Family?
I am originally from Dallas, TX but Dana and I have moved too many times over the last 13 years (Las Vegas, Houston, Chicago, ATL) and have lived in Milton for the last 3 ½ years.
I have worked for Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA for the last 16 years in various sales/training/marketing/managed care roles
Dana and I have two boys: Blake (13); Brayden (10) and a dog named Tori (5) that keeps us busy! And a turtle that doesn’t do much.
- When did you start CFP?
I started CrossFit in late 2012 with Travis and Marjorie…even before CFP existed and have loved every minute of it, well almost every minute.
- What’s your biggest fitness/health accomplishment since starting CFP?
When I first started CrossFit, I was doing pull ups on green bands (the thickest), modifying every gymnastic move, lifting very low weights on all oly lifting…so being able to RX most workouts, string together pull-ups and CTB pull-ups, consistently getting PRs, and learning almost all gymnastic moves has been a HUGE win! Getting this old body back into shape has been a very cool journey.
- What are your future fitness goals?
One dang muscle up in next year’s Open and to master DUs
- What do you do for fun?
If I am not working, sleeping or at CrossFit, I am on some type of field/court coaching something…football, baseball, basketball. I am not really sure what I will do with all of my time when the boys get into high school….maybe make a Saturday WOD?!?!?
- Favorite lift/workout?
Two – front/back squats and anything overhead. You combine a squat, S2OH and maybe some hand stand push-ups, I can compete! That is the epitome a short man’s workout!
- Least favorite lift/workout?
Anything with that dang assault bike! Add in some wall balls or rowing/running and I suddenly have a conference call that prohibits me from making class.
- What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start at CrossFit Passion?
Just start! The coaches and community at CFP are simply unprecedented and why this place is just different, can’t really put it in words…give it a shot! Don’t be intimidated by the word ‘CrossFit’, every workout is 100% customizable for you and your abilities/needs. Once you walk in the door, don’t be concerned about where you start and enjoy your journey. You will know you’re hooked when you too start refreshing the web browser every night waiting for Travis to post the workout for tomorrow.
